Glanffrwd care home in Bridgend treated its Residents to an amazing, spa-like experience as they enjoyed a peaceful, pamper session.
Representatives from Beautifully You UK, a company offering dementia-friendly health, beauty and emotional wellness services, visited the Residents to give them a well-deserved afternoon of pampering treats.
Residents had hand massages, a relaxing facial, with their makeup being done at the end. Soothing music was played during the session, with sweet-scented, essential oils turning Glanffrwd into a wonderful, spa-like experience.
The ladies were absolutely thrilled with their session and can’t wait for Beautifully You to return to the home again next month.
Gwen, a Resident at the home, said: “I haven’t worn makeup for years, so it was such a special treat for me to have it done for me today. It made me feel absolutely wonderful.”
Joan Thomas, Home Manager, said: “It was so special to see the ladies looking so lovely and relaxed, and every single one commented on how much better they felt after the spa treatments. The workshop was so valued, everything we do here is about Residents’ dignity, respect and also making them feel valued.”
