The seaside comes to Cold Springs ParkResidents at HC-One’s Cold Springs Park Care Home in Redcar, Cleveland enjoy a fun afternoon at the seaside.

The lounge was decorated with bunting, deck chairs and holiday props to give Residents the feeling of being back in time at the seaside or on holiday camps.

Residents happily wore Hawaiian garlands, hats and were given large comical sunglasses, which made them all giggle.

Relatives were invited to join in the with fun and everyone was entertained by tributes of Ted Bovis, Ruth Madoc and Peggy Ollerenshaw who were all wearing yellow coats like those from the Hi-Di-Hi sitcom.

They had the Residents up dancing and singing along to the songs, from rock and roll to swing. Some of the audience had musical instruments to tap away to the music.

Refreshments were served for everyone, including hotdogs, trifle, sandwiches and soft drinks.

The room was full of cheer, laughter and applause throughout and the Residents highlight of the afternoon was the candyfloss machine which everyone got to taste, bringing back happy memories of their youth.

John and Pat Judson, relatives of Marie Judson commented:

“I’ve never laughed so much, what a fantastic afternoon!”
