The Little Things Make the Biggest DifferenceCarers at HC-One Carrington Court, Hindley in Wigan, have proved that the little things can make a big difference to their Residents and 91 year old Doris Grant can vouch for that!

Doris was asked if there was anything that would make her day, they were surprised when she said all she wanted to feel sand between her toes!

While it would have been easy to get a sand pit brought into the home kind care staff decided that there would nothing better than to give Doris a trip out to the seaside to remember.

Doris had a lovely trip out to the beach at Southport and not only did she have sand between her toes but even had the opportunity to meet with the local lifeguards.

Resident Doris said

“I’ve had a wonderful day out. It was lovely to feel the sand between my toes and the trip to the beach reminded me of my younger days when I used to go with my family”

Rebecca Asprey, Home Manager at Carrington Court said

“What a wonderful day Doris had. It just goes to show that it’s the little thing that do make the biggest difference. I think the smile on Doris’s face says it all”

Ruth Yates, HC-One Managing Director said:

“It sounds like Doris had a great time. Organising memorable events like this is an important part of how HC-One provides the kindest care.”
