The Croft Silver Band performance at MagnaToday at Magna care home in Wigston, which offers residential nursing and residential dementia care, had a special visit from The Croft Silver Band.

Avis who is one of the Residents at Magna, was a well-known choir conductor, and even ran her own orchestra. Two of the members of The Croft Silver Band run their own orchestra thanks to Avis. This was part of the reason the band decided to come and play a concert for all the Residents at Magna care home. Playing some popular songs such as “Spanish Eyes” and “We’ll meet again” by the famous Vera Lynn.

The concert had everything you’d want, the Residents were singing and clapping along with the songs and even the Home Manager came to watch the concert (on her day off!)

Residents expressed how much of a spectacular event it was, saying it was a superb performance from all those involved – and cannot wait to see them again at Christmas. They all loved the music and songs that were performed and were quoted in saying “Good selection of music, lovely band and an all-round fantastic afternoon”.

Another said, “It was lovely to welcome our Relatives back into the home, seeing them enjoy this concert with their loved ones”.

Chipo Mupunga, the home manager, finished the day with speaking about the concert with “Thanks for coming to the home, to play for the Residents and we would love to have you all back at Christmas”.
