Residents at Ilsom House care home were visited by a number of pupils from the Avening Primary School today to celebrate ‘World Book Day.
Around 20 children and staff from the local primary school visited the home to share some of their favourite stories in honour of World Book Day, which has become really popular to celebrate across the UK.
Pupils sat with Residents in the lounge area and read their favourite stories to them which was very well received by the Residents. The day was filled with interaction between everybody in the home, the atmosphere was fantastic and everybody enjoyed a tasty afternoon tea after hearing all the stories too.
Many of the Residents said the visit reminded them of their own school days, it was lovely for them to be able to reminisce these times.
