Tameside Rocks!Tameside Rocks is an idea from a local mum, who wanted to get her child out and about, so she decided they would hide some painted rocks in local parks for other children to find.

This idea took of hugely in the area and over the past few months, children and adults have been out about searching for the pretty painted rocks.

It has brought many children out of the house, excitedly exploring the area, once the rocks are found they are out on the Facebook page Tameside rocks so that the creators of the rocks can see how far it has travelled.

The Care Team at the Beeches thought it would be a good idea to paint rocks of our own and hide them for local families to find and we can follow them on Facebook and see how far they have travelled.

Today Wellbeing Coordinator Sade and Resident Jim went for a walk just round the local area and hid several rocks. Jim liked the idea of hiding them up high on the school railings for the children to find.

A local garden company DB Gardens of Hyde kindly donated the rocks, and there is plenty left to paint and hide further afield.

Resident Jim commented:

“Once I knew where to hide the rocks I enjoyed it and it gets me out as well, I look forward to seeing who finds them!”

Sade, Wellbeing Coordinator remarked:

“Tameside rocks has been a huge hit over the holidays with local children and parents, and with the recent care home open day and bringing communities together we thought it would be nice for us to paint some and get out and about hiding them!”
