Residents at HC One’s The Beeches care home spent the afternoon sending cards to their loved ones.
Each Resident from the Tameside care home, has sent a card home to their loved ones, which inside has a teddy bear ‘hug’ printed and laminated for the families to keep.
The activity was enjoyed by each of the Residents. It was lovely for Colleagues to spend time helping Residents to write out each card so they were all ready to send out too.
Each of the Residents spoke about memories and reminisced of good times whilst filling out the cards, it was quite an emotional experience and some happy tears were shed.
Resident Sally said “it was nice to send a card to my daughter and let her know I’m thinking of her, as I know she is missing coming to see me.”
Another Resident, Mavis, commented “I sent my sister a card in Canada, I haven’t seen her for many years, we speak weekly on the telephone but it was nice to send her a card to let her know I am thinking about her.”
