On Saturday 1st October Residents, Colleagues and Relatives at HC-One’s The
Beeches care home, in Dukinfield, got together and celebrated Kathy’s 90th birthday with a surprise party for her.
Kathy, who lives at the 32-bed residential care home, had no idea this was being planned and hadn’t properly celebrated her previous birthdays at the home, due to coronavirus restrictions, so this time she was made an extra fuss of!
The afternoon started off with music and drinks with fellow Residents, then was the first of the surprises as Kathy’s grandson visited, who she hadn’t seen for a while and her daughter also joined.
Kathy was overwhelmed with the surprise party and enjoyed entertainment from singer Anthony Lye, who sang a mixture of songs and plays the keyboard for Residents.
The afternoon was finished with plenty of singing, drinks and a lovely buffet from the kitchen team.
Sade Smith, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “We had a lovely afternoon celebrating Kath’s 90th birthday with her family and friends.”
“It was extra special and a day to remember for Kathy.”
