Today marked the 95th birthday of one Resident at HC-One’s Fir Trees care home in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester.
Edith spent her birthday morning opening all her lovely cards and presents from her family and friends before a heart warming window visit with her loved ones.
Birthday girl Edith was overwhelmed with excitement. She said: “Thank you so much for today. I can’t believe all this has been done for me.”
She spent the afternoon celebrating with Residents as everyone had a sing and a dance to Edith’s favourite singer, Frank Sinatra, before taking part in a fun games afternoon.
Residents enjoyed playing games like dominoes, Play Your Cards Right and even giant snakes and ladders.
Marjorie, another Resident at the care home, commented: “It was great to have a good dance with the staff members. I loved listening to Frank Sinatra and paying dominos.”
Colleagues organised a group of Residents to join in and sing happy birthday to Edith and she was presented with a delicious birthday cake.
Edith was overwhelmed with the amount of effort everyone had put into her big day, especially given the current difficult circumstances everyone is going through.
Everyone enjoyed their day celebrating the birthday girl, playing games, dancing and, most importantly, eating birthday cake.
Fir Trees Care Assistant, Sarah, said: “I loved seeing the Residents dancing and all joining in to sing happy birthday to Edith.”
