Tameside care home receive donation from Dukinfield scoutsHC One’s The Beeches care home received a lovely donation of gifts from the local scouts group.

The Tameside care home received lots of hand painted pictures from the scout group. There was also lovely poems in a frame and even hand-knitted blankets for the Residents.

Some of the hand prints sent in were then made into hanging ornaments to put up around the home.

The home has great community links with the scouts, they used to visit the home frequently before lockdown. The Residents used to love their visits as they would sing and come and sit and have a chat too.

It was such a nice surprise to receive all of these gifts, and know they are still thinking of everyone at The Beeches during these difficult times.

It really did bring a smile to Residents faces, it was so lovely to be able to read the poems out and for Residents to choose a blanket they would like. They were very grateful for all of the efforts made by the scouts and would like to say a big thank-you.

One Resident, Catherine, commented “the blankets are beautiful, I like the one I chose, the colours are beautiful”, and Resident Mary said “the gifts are lovely, it’s nice of the children to think of us”.
