HC-One’s Peniel Green care home in Llansamlet, Swansea is celebrating having received a glowing report from Care Inspectorate Wales.
The team at Peniel Green was delighted to receive an impressive report that rated the home as ‘Compliant’, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for Residents.
The inspectors were full of praise for staff at Peniel Green, highlighting the kind ways in which they provide care for people living at the home. This sentiment was echoed by Residents, who made remarks such as: “Staff are marvellous, I call them my friends. We have a bit of fun with them and talk about family life” and “I can’t thank the staff enough for all the care they show.”
The report reflected the variety of stimulating activities available to Residents at Peniel Green, including animal therapy, pamper sessions and attending arts and crafts sessions run by the local council. The Wellbeing Coordinator was praised for introducing a new social initiative to the home called Teapot Tuesday, where Residents take it in turns to visit another nearby care home for afternoon tea on a weekly basis.
The home was also praised for its efforts to help people with cognitive impairment, such as introducing massage therapy, sensory mitts, reading aloud and also listening to music, showing that staff members support Residents’ communication needs effectively.
