In celebration of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’ big day, Residents from HC-One’s Swallownest Care home celebrated in style.
The home had been decorated with union jack flags, bunting and table settings, and definitely looked very patriotic!
Everyone enjoyed a traditional British lunch of Chip shop chips straight out of the paper along with some more American style food such as hot dog and chips in honour of our new American princess.
The home even prepared some wonderful cupcakes decorated with Harry and Megan’s faces.
Entertainment came in the form of a George Formby tribute act, which was much loved by all and brought back some wonderful memories.
Of course the main event came in the form of watching the wedding itself on the television. The Residents loved seeing Megan Markel’s dress and watching the beautiful ceremony.
Home Manager, Tracy Marsden, remarked:
"It was a brilliant day with so much laughter in the home. We had so many age groups attend, which was just fantastic, and bringing the local community into our home is brilliant. We all worked together as a team to give everyone a wonderful day to remember and our Residents loved watching the wedding!”
