Sunshine fun for Dukinfield care homeResidents at Yew Trees care home in Dukinfield, Tameside enjoyed a refreshing treat in the spring sunshine as the ice cream van paid a visit to the home.

Wellbeing Coordinator Toni arranged for the ice cream van driver, Dean, to come to the home especially for Yew Trees Residents.

Staff accompanied Residents outside to choose which ice cream they wanted, with some opting for an ice lolly while others chose a classic 99.

After choosing their ice creams, Residents enjoyed a lovely catch-up outside in the sunshine.

Relatives visiting the home joined in on the refreshments, with many commenting on how it is a brilliant way to keep Residents cool.

Thelma, a Resident at Yew Trees, said: “I would love it if the ice cream van could visit us every day.”

Toni, Wellbeing Coordinator, said: “This was a wonderful idea and we are all very grateful to Dean for being so accommodating.”
