Sunnyside Residents Celebrate VE DayFor VE Day, Sunnyside care home invited a 1940’s themed entertainer to help celebrate in the home.

VE Day marks the end of WWII in Europe and many Residents reminisced about that time.

The dining room was decorated with union jack bunting and flags and Residents joined in with their favourite songs.

Resident Valerie Ratcliffe said

‘I really enjoyed that, she is a great singer. I had so much fun.’

Wellbeing coordinator Kelly Deakin remarked:

“Hannah, The Golden Age Songbird, was amazing! She came and sang the most amazing set of songs that our Residents love to sing and dance to. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying the performance but it was also very emotional. Hannah’s voice was amazing; her interaction with the Residents during her performance was lovely also. We will absolutely be inviting her back for future celebrations!

It is important for us to celebrate momentous occasions like VE day at Sunnyside and what better way to do it than through a mutual love of song & dance.”
