Residents at HC-One’s April Park care home in Eckington, Derbyshire, have been making the most of the early summer sun during their recent activities.
For the latest bingo activity, some Residents made the most of the warm sunshine by sitting in the 38-bed care homes’ newly revamped garden to play. Residents said they enjoyed the fresh air, and particularly loved seeing the growing flowers as they start to bloom.
The flowering garden was also reflected by Residents who have been enjoying making a canvas of forget-me-nots. These beautiful works have been displayed in the care home to honour those with Alzheimer’s. Residents said they loved seeing the final pictures on the wall, and they certainly add a bright splash of colour!
Finally, the April Park Residents have wanted to show their appreciation and thank the carers and nurses who worked at the care home during the Covid-19 pandemic, Goodie bags were made up by Residents as a thank you, and all the staff on shift were given a bag each, while the nurses who came to visit the Residents were given a goodie too.
Residents put a little note in each bag to express their personal thanks, and one said that it was a lovely way to say thank you and that they felt they were “giving back” to Colleagues. Another commented “Thank you for all you do”.
Home Manager Lisa Dootson said: “The recent warm weather seems to have rubbed off on our Residents, and it’s wonderful to see them engage in our programme of activities with such enthusiasm! And it’s always a pleasure to recognise the fantastic work the team here at April Park do.”
