At
Hyde nursing and nursing dementia care care home, on Tameside, Residents have been taking part in many spring activities this May including some gardening and a live show!
On 6th June, Colleagues Sophie and Lorraine took Residents Sheila, Graham, Dorothy, Evelyn, Audrey, Jean and Mary, into the home’s lovely front garden and pavilion area to plant some sunflowers, carrots and tomatoes. All particularly enjoyed getting their hands into the soil and having a real good laugh together.
The Residents were given some handmade sunflower diaries so that they could document the process and growth. Everyone expressed how excited they were to watch the sunflowers grow.
Mary Relph commented, “I can’t wait to see my sunflower bloom.”
Fellow Resident Graham Myatt added, “This is my happy place, this is what I love to do.”
Following on, on 19th May The Hyde welcomed a musical show into the home for Residents which included arm dances, laughing and singing with the actors involved. Residents particularly liked the old songs that were played in the show.
Mary said, “I had a lot of fun!”
Jean added, “I loved the songs in the show.”
