Sunderland care home improves wellbeing with community projectResidents from HC-One’s Ashton Grange care home in Sunderland have started taking part in weekly health and fitness sessions with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue.

The project is being hosted by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue aims to promote positive physical and emotional wellbeing for older members of the community. Residents attended the first of the weekly sessions on Thursday 6th February, where they participated in gentle exercises followed by lunch and a presentation.

Everyone had a wonderful time at the first session and are looking forward to taking part in more weekly sessions with the group.

Ashton Grange Home Manager, Lesley Dawson said: “Thank you to Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue for organising such a positive project which will have a significant impact on the wellbeing of older people in the community.”
