Residents, visitors and members of the care team at HC-One’s Ashton Grange care home in Sunderland celebrated the patron saint of Ireland on Sunday 17th March.
St Patrick’s Day marks the passing of St Patrick, a 4th century priest who took Christianity to Ireland. Every year thousands of people worldwide celebrate the day by wearing green and enjoying an Irish tipple.
Everyone gathered for an afternoon of Irish merriment with a traditional stew for lunch followed by live entertainment from Alec Mcrea. Residents laughed, danced and sang the afternoon away together with their friends and family.
A great time was had by all, one Resident, Joyce said the afternoon brought back happy memories from when she visited Dublin.
