Summerville’s Christmas Fayre brings community togetherA sprinkle of Christmas cheer filled the corridors at HC-One’s Summerville Care Home in Warrington, Cheshire, as Residents welcomed in the festive season with their annual festive fayre.

Summerville opened its doors to members of the community with an indoor market, selling homemade gifts such as cakes, bath bombs and chocolate hampers as well as having a stall serving mulled wine and hot dogs, much to everyone’s delight.

Santa Claus himself made an appearance, which lit up the Residents faces as he delivered a present to each with the biggest smile.

Local businesses, Relatives and friends kindly donated many of the prizes for the tombola and raffle and Summerville would like to thank all of those who supported them. Altogether, the afternoon raised over £470 for the Resident’s comfort fund.

Natalie Brooks, Wellbeing Coordinator, has worked hard to bring the Christmas markets to Summerville due to not all of the Residents being able to get out to the local festivities.

The Residents had a great day, commenting:

“What a nice way to bring everyone together for a dose of festive spirit and enjoy a tradition of visiting the Christmas markets, with the added bonus of not leaving home!

It was really nice to see everyone together having so much fun.”

Iqbal Sidhu, Home Manager at Summerville Care Home, commented:

“It was a very busy and successful day; we can’t wait for the next one!

“Thank you to everyone who attended, it really got us counting down the days to Christmas at Summerville.”

Nicola Garner, Area Director, commented:

“The staff at Summerville did an amazing job of providing the Residents and their visitors with a truly memorable day. This is the perfect example of how we strive to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident.”
