HC-One’s The Gables Care Home recently opened their doors to the local community as they hosted a Summer Fayre.
Mayor of Whittlesey, Julie Windle, attended the home, alongside Residents, Relatives, local scouts and other visitors. Stalls were in place which included a tombola, raffle, book stall, sweet cart as well as various other small businesses, and a local art group which was selling its original art work.
Visitors were provided with entertainment from local Whittlesey Christian church who performed a puppet show, which was a delight for all ages.
No fair is complete without an afternoon treat, as everyone enjoyed an ice cream in the sunshine.
The event raised an amazing sum of over £700, which will go towards the Resident’s comfort fund.
Henry Mutambo, Home Manager, commented: “A lovely afternoon was had by all who attended. We host this event annually, and it is always wonderful to get involved with the local community.”
