Stornoway Care Home Enjoys Success in Care Inspectorate ReportHC-One’s Blar Buidhe Care Home in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, is celebrating having received a glowing report from the Care Inspectorate. 

The team at Blar Buidhe were delighted to have received an impressive Care Inspectorate report that rated the home as ‘Good’ in all five inspection areas, demonstrating that the home is providing high standards of care for its Residents.

During the inspection, Inspectors spoke to the Residents of Blar Buidhe as well as their Relatives who were full of praise about the home, specifically about the care and support that people received as well as the staff and the warmth and compassion shown to the Relatives. One Relative commented:

“She loves all of the staff from the minute she came. So upbeat here always something on the go, staff so friendly, bright atmosphere. Everyone is so approachable from the manager down.”

One Relative, Noreen Maciver whose mother is at Blar Buidhe, spoke very highly of the home, commenting:

“I am happy with the care at Blar Buidhe and I think that the Home Manager, Donald, is excellent, I really mean that, he really cares.”

HC-One Blar Buidhe’s Home Manager, Donald McIntosh said:

“I am absolutely delighted with the progress we have made and very proud of the report; it is a credit to all of the Blar Buidhe staff.”
