Stoke care home marks Remembrance Day with arts and craftsVictoria Park care home in Stoke, Coventry marked Remembrance Day with a special arts and crafts session for Residents to enjoy.

Resident Peter, who served in the Armed Forces when he was younger, felt passionately about contributing to the arts and crafts session and decided to paint a poppy.

Despite being registered blind, Peter used what he could visualise in his mind to paint the poppy, using red paint for the leaves and black paint for the centre of the flower.

Once his painting was complete, Peter discussed the importance of Armistice Day with Colleagues at Victoria Park.

Patricia Alleyne, Home Manager at Victoria Park, said: “It was so lovely to see Peter joining in with the arts and crafts as we remembered those affected by the war.”
