Residents at HC-One’s Newlands care home in Stockport had a change in their activities schedule recently, as they enjoyed a glowstick exercise class.
To spice up the Residents wellbeing programme through the winter months, Colleagues at Newlands care home decided to introduce Residents to glow in the dark exercises.
From the safety of their chair, Residents are encouraged to move their arms and hands whilst holding glowsticks, which promotes happiness, movement and strength in the arms. They loved the session so much that is going to become a permanent fixture in every class from now on.
“Our classes are better than the ones we used to have before coronavirus and the glow sticks are great fun,” said one Resident.
Residents also used bean bags and small soft balloons and balls so they could play some hand tennis, promoting a better hand-eye coordination.
