The team at Appleton Lodge was delighted to achieve an impressive CQC report that rated the home as Good overall, with an Outstanding rating awarded for the home being responsive.
The Good rating demonstrates that the home is providing high standards of care for Residents, highlighting that the home is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The inspectors were full of praise for staff at Appleton Lodge, highlighting the kind ways in which they provide care for Residents at the home. Inspectors were particularly impressed by the innovative activities put in place to help enhance Residents’ lives, such as the home’s ‘Remembering Together’ workbooks, which helps everyone to reminisce together.
Inspectors also commented on the efforts made by Appleton Lodge to stay connected with the local community, and staff were praised for their commitment to protecting people from the risks of social isolation. The home’s community engagement included visits from local schools, with one Resident commenting: “It’s lovely having the children in, they sing for us and it’s an event I look forward to.”
