Residents at HC-One’s Forthbank care home in Stirling recently created some beautiful displays for the homes Remembrance Sunday service.
Throughout the week in the run up to Remembrance Sunday, Residents created some beautiful art to put onto the homes display. Poppies, soldiers and Union Jacks were all drawn by Residents and put onto the displays across the homes.
On Remembrance Sunday, Residents watched the ceremony and then read stories from the war and looked at old pictures, some from their own collection, from the time.
This brought back many happy and sad memories for Residents, who reminisced about their childhood, but were also reminded about the hard times during the war, a very sobering experience for all.
“I remember the day of the end of the war very well, my mother was dancing in the street,” said one Forthbank Resident.
