Residents at HC-One’s Woodlands View care home in Stevenage were delighted to have recently been invited to attend a garden party hosted by none other than the Mayor of Stevenage, Simon Speller.
After attending the home’s Care Home Open Day event back in June, councillor Speller decided to return the favour as he invited a group of Residents and Colleagues to join him at his garden party, alongside various other companies from the local area.
The Residents enjoyed the event as they socialised with the mayor and other attendees. Entertainment was provided by a local singer as everyone enjoyed an afternoon tea consisting of sandwiches, crisps and a variety of cakes. A raffle was also held by the mayor, in which a total of £600 was raised.
Residents remarked on how lovely it was to be invited to such a large event, whilst Home Manager, Deby O’Hare, commented: “A wonderful day was had by all, the Residents felt very honoured to be attending the event and have enjoyed themselves thoroughly."
