Stafford Care Home Remembers D-DayResidents and Colleagues at Maple Lodge commemorated D-Day as they spent the afternoon discussing their lives during the war and recalled memories they had.

D-Day is a day in the Second World War on which Allied forces invaded northern France by means of beach landings in Normandy.

Residents looked through various history books and pictures as they spoke of their families, reminiscing memories of ration books and identity cards as they each looked through personal photo albums.

Sarah Dodd, Home Manager, commented: “Everyone enjoyed remembering D-Day together within the home and Colleagues appreciated listening to Residents’ stories and memories.”
