Staff from Bishop Auckland home raise money on Alzheimer’s ‘glow walk’Staff from HC-One’s Eden House in Bishop Auckland have raised money for Alzheimer’s UK during their ‘Glow Walk’ on Saturday 14th March.

The Alzheimer’s society held their yearly memory walk at Gateshead and this year they had a glow in the dark themed walk in which many people took part.

Eden House Home Manager, Emma Wade and Deputy Manager, Sara Richardson plus three members of care staff, Claire Watson, Yasmin Bedford and Amanda Lockwood all took part in the walk, along with hundreds of other people, as it is a charity that is close to all their hearts.

Claire Watson, a carer at Eden House said: “I was amazed at the crowd of people that took place in this event and the atmosphere was amazing. All the ladies thanked everyone for their sponsorship money.”

The staff from Eden House all managed to raise a massive £804.00 for the Alzheimer’s charity, which they are all so very proud of.

Eden House Home Manager Emma Wade said: “The evening was a great atmosphere, there were hundreds of people taking part and Amanda was even getting donations from people in the pubs along the route as we walked along the Quayside.”

The Residents at HC-One’s Eden House were all shown pictures from the event and they all loved the colourful outfits that the staff had worn.
