St Clare’s Court host a breakfast with the local fire brigadeResidents and Colleagues at St Clare’s Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in Newton Aycliffe, enjoyed a lovely breakfast with the local fire brigade.

On Tuesday the 7th of February, the local fire brigade came along to the home for a lovely breakfast.

Both Residents and Colleagues were joined by five members of the fire brigade. Everyone sat together in the lounge enjoying a lovely cup of tea and bacon sandwiches.

The morning was full of laughter and chats between the Residents and the fire brigade. The Residents were touched that the fire brigade had taken the time out of their busy day to come and spend the time with them.

The fire brigade kindly donated a lovely hamper with lots of delicious goodies for the Residents and Colleagues to enjoy.

Sheila, one of the Residents at St Clare’s Court, said, “It’s such a nice idea opening our home to people that have such an important job, like the fire fighters. They deserve all the food that we can give them.”

Caitlin Hayes, Care Manager, added, “It’s lovely to see the emergency services having a break away from their hectic job roles.”
