Residents at Fir Trees care home in Dukinfield enjoyed the home’s first ever sports day in the spring sunshine.
A mixture of Residents and Colleagues made up the teams as they battled it out to win a number of exciting challenges, including the baton relay, bean bag throw and sack race.
To quench their thirst, Residents were even treated to a refreshing ice cream or ice lolly from the local ice cream van, which paid a visit to show support to the home.
Fir Trees staff were also delighted to raise a fantastic £92.50 for the Residents’ fund through sponsor forms and donations.
The event went down a storm with Residents, as Terrence Hillson commented: “It’s been a top notch day.”
Nicole Gunning, Home Manager at Fir Trees, said: “Our first ever sports day has been a fantastic team building event, giving staff and visitors the opportunity to interact with all Residents and work together to achieve a great outcome.
“To top the day off, we even enjoyed cooling down with a delicious ice cream. What a great success!”
