Sponsored walk raises over £300 for Crieff care homeJanette Matias, Home Manager at HC-One’s The Birches care home in Crieff put her best foot forward, taking on a sponsored walk to raise money for the Resident’s Comfort Fund.

The sponsored walk was arranged by Janette as a COVID-19 safe way to raise money for the Resident’s Comfort Fund, she embarked on the 2250 metre journey along the Tay Road Bridge, crossing the Firth of Tay and is also one of the longest road bridges in Europe.

Janette’s efforts raised just over £300 for the Residents at The Birches, this isn’t the first time Janette has embarked on a challenge to raise money for the Resident’s Comfort Fund, back in August 2019 she raised over £400 completing a sponsored hike of the 985-metre-high mountain, Ben Vorlich.

Everyone at The Birches was impressed with Janette’s achievement, Residents commented that her efforts are greatly appreciated.

Janette commented: “It was an amazing experience, which was made even more special as I was doing it for such a great cause, the money raised will make a real difference to the lives of our Residents.”

Located on Comrie Road, The Birches care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen that require residential care and residential memory care for those living with dementia.

The care home also boasts a 10/10 average user rating on the sectors leading comparison website, carehome.co.uk giving The Birches the highest rating of all the 1048 care homes in Scotland.
