Spennymoor care home Residents visit fishing museumResidents from HC-One’s Lothian House care home in Spennymoor enjoyed a journey from prehistoric times through to the present day at The Museum of Hartlepool on Monday 13th January.

The group headed to the free museum located near to Hartlepool’s history quay, which includes a variety of features, with highlights including sea monsters, a fishing coble, a Celtic round house, the first gas illuminated lighthouse, a fully restored paddle steamer and much more.

Everyone enjoyed admiring all of the exhibits and learning more about fishing and life at sea both today and in years go. Residents commented that it was a wonderful day and chatted about their favourite parts of the day on their journey back to Lothian House.

Lothian House Home Manager, Jill Carr said: “I am so pleased that our Residents enjoyed their trip to the museum, getting out and about is important for people’s physical and emotional wellbeing.”
