Spennymoor care home prepares to host harvest celebrationHC-One’s Lothian House care home in Spennymoor is busy preparing for its annual Harvest Festival which celebrates the arrival of autumn and brings the local community together to support national charity, Silver Sunday.

On Friday 27th September, Lothian House will welcome friends, family and members of the local community to join Residents for a traditional celebration, with harvest-themed activities and seasonal food.

In anticipation of the Festival, Wellbeing Coordinator, Edith Smith and Monica Searle, a Resident at Lothian House, hand delivered invitations within the local community to encourage more people to join the home for its seasonal celebrations.

Lothian House Home Manager, Jill Carr said: “The Harvest Festival is a chance to give back to the community and offer everyone an opportunity to have meaningful moments in the company of others.

“Along with Silver Sunday, the Festival will encourage older people to connect with the communities and generations around them, promote new friendships and help reduce loneliness. We hope lots of people from the community will join us for our celebrations.”
