Resident Bill, who resides at The Glen care home in Shepton Mallet, has offered to lend his helping hand and experience in manual handling, to make up new trollies for Colleagues.
Bill, along with the activity staff including Wellbeing Lea Hayley, put together the new food trolley using tools and equipment provided. He talked about how he used to do this sort of thing when he was younger.
When the trolley was complete, Bill gave it a try and, see picture, he commented, “I am quite proud of myself!” He loved the feeling of being involved and really enjoyed the activity.
Home Manager, Terri-Ann Weatherall, commented, “It was lovely to see Bill helping put the trolley together and the content in his face.”
Bill asked if he could do it again and Colleagues responded that he would be the first person they would ask, Bill smiled.
