Colleagues at White Gables care home in Skellingthorpe, Lincoln put their best foot forward as they raised a fantastic £450 at the home’s sponsored walk.
Home Manager, Catherine Mitchell, was joined by Wellbeing Coordinator, Katherine Trevor, and Nursing Assistant, Jess Hayes, as they embarked on a 14 mile walk connecting three HC-One care homes.
Starting off at Willow Court in Cherry Willingham, the trio meandered through the city and its lovely arboretum before enjoying a refreshing drink in HC-One’s Altham Court care home.
The second half of the journey involved a walk through Heartsholme Park, finishing off at White Gables in Skellingthorpe.
Catherine, Katherine and Jess were delighted to have finished the walk in under five hours and, despite their sore feet and aching muscles, were overjoyed to discover they had raised £450 for the Residents’ comfort fund.
Katherine said: “It was certainly a challenge to walk so far on such a hot day, but to have raised £450 for our Residents made the task totally worthwhile.”
