Singing for the MindJayne George visited HC-One White Gables Care Home recently to stimulate the Residents' minds and spirits through the medium of song. She calls her act ‘Singing for the Mind’. The aim of the hour’s entertainment is to sing to each Resident in turn, making it a more personal experience. She sang songs from the Music Hall such as My Old Man, Hymns such as Amazing Grace and other songs including Hello Dolly, A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square and many more.

There was also a portion of the session in which residents were given a percussion instrument such as a tambourine or maraca to shake and rattle to the beat of the music. Some of the Residents were happy to listen to the music, while others enjoyed playing their instruments and singing out loud to all the songs they knew. There were even a few harmonies thrown in by a former singer amongst the Residents.
