Silverwood in BloomResidents at Silverwood in Rotherham have been enjoying the weather and taking advantage of the beautiful flowers that the season brings.

They have had some lovely donations of plants from some of the relatives and they are getting plenty of help towards their entry for HC-One’s Gardening competition 2018.

Residents and relatives have been creating bird boxes for the wild birds that come to the gardens.

They have brightened the flowerbeds and took some fresh flowers into the dining room for everyone to enjoy at mealtimes.

Home Manager, Carrie Ann Davies, commented:

“It is so important for elderly people to go out and enjoy the sunshine; it has so many health benefits. Gardening and making the gardens a place that Residents want to spend time is vital. We are all having fun doing this and it brings along so many different activities we can share together!”
