Silent disco at Uddingston care homeResidents and families from Highgate care home in Uddingston were thrilled when the home threw a silent disco.

A silent disco is something the Residents of the 80-bed nursing and nursing dementia care home had always loved the idea of.

With help from both Relatives and Colleagues on the 11th October a silent disco was held for Residents to have a laugh and a boogie.

The Residents were heavily involved in the planning of the event by choosing the song list, inviting their families along and decorating the lounge.

As the music was chosen by all the Residents, they were able to dancing and sing along to some of their favourite songs.

One of the Relatives, remarked, “This was brilliant, we should do this every month.”

The Residents enjoyed watching the disco lights and dancing with one another. It was fantastic as everyone was up on their feet having a dance to some really good music.

Charlene Curtis, Care Home Manager, commented, “This is a new craze which is sweeping the senior living sector, and for good reason, the singing and engagement from Residents was absolutely incredible.”
