Residents at Alexander Court care home in Sheffield took a journey back in time as they visited Kelham Island Museum.
The museum showcases the history of Sheffield’s steelmaking industry, featuring interactive galleries and on-site craftsmen.
Everyone walked around the museum and admired the different displays, which included old-fashioned tools, steelmaking equipment and even a steam train, which was a firm favourite amongst Residents.
The museum even featured a remembrance corner that focussed on people who fought in the war, which stimulated conversation between Residents as they reminisced about their childhoods.
The visit to Kelham Island Museum was a great success with Residents and was even finished off with a delicious serving of fish and chips for dinner!
Derek, a Resident at Alexander Court, said: “I really enjoyed the trip, it brought back many memories.”
