Residents at HC-One’s Alexander Court care home in Sheffield enjoyed a surprise visit from their new fluffy friend.
On March 5th, Alexander Court Colleague June Roberts very kindly decided to bring in her beautiful pet dog, Poppy. Residents all around their home enjoyed meeting Poppy one-to-one and feeding her biscuits and giving her lots of attention.
Poppy was a massive hit with Residents, who would definitely love to see her again.
“Woo, I love seeing Poppy run around, I hope she comes to visit again,” said one Alexander Court Resident.
For many elderly people, the primary benefit of pet ownership or building a relationship with an animal is companionship, but it can also reduce stress, improve health and normalise their environment.
