Sheffield care home celebrates HC-One’s new pen-pal initiative Alexander Court care home in Sheffield has decorated the home in celebration of the launch of HC-One’s new pen-pal initiative.

Eric Pickersgill, Maintenance Operative at Alexander Court, designed and created a beautiful new post box for the home, which will enable Residents to experience a realistic experience when posting their letters to their new pen-pals.

The new pen-pal initiative will match Residents from one home to fellow people living in HC-One care homes across the country, allowing them to share memories and interests with one another via the post.

Residents have already been admiring the new addition to the home, with many commenting on how impressed they were with Eric’s attention to detail.

One Resident commented: “This is a lovely idea. I can’t wait to make new friends, which is something I didn’t think I’d be able to do at my age.”

Home Manager Bea Gibbons said: “Eric is incredibly gifted and goes above and beyond to provide amazing new opportunities for our Residents.”
