Sensory garden is a sight to behold at Redcar care homeThe new sensory garden at HC-One’s Roseberry Court in Redcar is a big hit with Residents, family members and friends with them all commenting on how relaxing it is.

By day, the garden is a lovely grassed area where wildlife can enjoy their day, including hedgehogs, snails, and butterflies, as well as birds singing, frogs croaking, rabbits playing, fish swimming in the pond and mushrooms growing.

At night, it turns into a night garden with a beautiful array of different colours appearing in the fish tank and stars shining on the ceiling and walls.

The area has created so much joy for the Residents, where they enjoy spotting all of the different things that are going on, or to just relax and take in all of the different colours, sounds and textures.

The garden can be found on Roseberry Court’s Memory Care floor for all to go and enjoy.

Residents love everything about the garden, with Mary Clarkson commenting:

“This is just perfect.”

Brian Stonehouse commented:

“Listen to those birds singing, they sound so happy.”

Roseberry Court’s Home Manager, Alison Corner commented:

“This area has had a fantastic response from Residents and families.

It was created due to the summer fayre fundraising event and I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed.”
