Senior Care Assistant celebrates 25 years at Lothian HouseResidents and staff at Lothian House care home in Spennymoor are helping one of its Senior Care Assistants to celebrate 25 years at the home.

Sharon, who joined the Lothian House team on 11th January 1993, was presented with a Long Service Award to mark her work anniversary.

As a Senior Care Assistant, Sharon has undertaken roles such as the Home’s Dementia Champion and has supported the Memory care unit since it opened in January 2009.

In celebration of the award, Sharon was also given a watch, flowers and a cake.

One Resident commented: “Sharon always puts a smile on my face when I talk to her. Congratulations to her!”

Jill Carr, Home Manager at Lothian House, said: “Sharon is an extremely valued member of our team, and has made a real difference to our Memory care unit over the past 10 years. Here’s to another 25 years!”
