Seasonal celebrations at Yarm care homeA sprinkle of festive cheer filled HC-One’s Highfield care home in Yarm as Residents welcomed local school children from Layfield Primary School to perform a carol service on Thursday 19th December.

The children aged between 9 and 10 visited Residents to sing a variety of traditional carols and popular Christmas songs, Residents joined in as they performed their festive favourites and gave a huge round of applause at the end of the show. The school children also sang happy birthday to one Resident who was celebrating their 99th birthday.

Afterwards, Residents socialised with the children over seasonal treats and chatted about their favourite festive pastimes. One Resident commented: “It was amazing to see my granddaughter in the choir, it brought tears of joy to my eyes.”

Highfield Home Manager, Jackie Lothian said: “Thank you to the pupils from Layfield Primary School for their wonderful performance and for bringing Christmas cheer to Highfield.”
