Salisbury care home host street party for the Queen’s Platinum JubileeResidents at Harnham Croft care home, in Wiltshire, have enjoyed a wonderful sunny afternoon of celebrations for the Queen’s on Friday 3rd June, including a special street party.

Alison, Audrey, John, Joan, Robert, Mary, Gill, Linda, Eileen, Lynn, Doreen, Pat and Lilian, who all live at the 38-bedded residential and nursing home, all enjoyed some doorstep entertainment which was kindly organised by the local church. Musicians Dan and Paul (pictured right), came to the home’s party to play some lovely swing music, using the guitar, trumpet and violin. They then finished the set off by singing the National Anthem with Residents.

Colleagues also arranged for a tombola which entertained many Residents.

There was also a variety of refreshments available. Care Assistant, Laura, said, “The Residents have all enjoyed themselves with a refreshing glass of Pimms to mark the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.”

Eileen remarked, “It was a lovely afternoon, the home is decorated amazingly, and I’ve had a lovely afternoon celebrating with friends.”

Deputy Manager, Tracey, commented, “It’s lovely to see our Residents getting back to some form of normality, making friends and what better way to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, which means a lot to out Residents.”
