Residents at HC One’s Pendleton Court have had some new company in the form of some robotic pets.
The Salford care home have been having lots of sensory sessions with the amazing robotic animals.
Colleagues have found the animals to be quite the hit with Residents who have dementia and those who are feeling down due to the lockdown.
The robots interact with the Residents and react to different touch or movements. The cats purr and vibrate which makes them almost seem alive!
In keeping with Infection Control all the pets are sanitized after each Resident has a hold and before passing onto another Resident.
Residents who have sensory impairments think they are fantastic. Colleagues at Pendleton Court have said they would recommend these to any of the sister homes.
The home manager said “I have never seen such an amazing reaction to anything before they are amazing, everyone should have one.”
