Roxburgh’s September roundupSeptember has been a busy month for Residents at Roxburgh in the West Midlands, which offers residential and residential dementia care.

Residents have enjoyed an afternoon of Bingo on a wet Friday. All the Residents in the residential section of the home attended, Madeline, one of the Residents commented “It was a lovely way of passing such a dreary afternoon, I had a nice time” and Freda, another one of the Residents said, “It was a lovely afternoon, I never usually win at anything”.

Later in the month, Residents also enjoyed a big group sing along to some old music. Playing a back in time CD, Residents could sing along with all their old favourites. Tony, a Resident who attended said “I do love a good sing along! It was a very enjoyable day”. Colleagues who were in the area mentioned “Its lovely to hear them all singing along together”.

Two Residents, Irene and Eileen, had enjoyed an afternoon of Badminton as well this month. Colleagues in the home were cheering them along in the garden. Both said afterwards that they had a lot of fun playing and “it was nice to get some exercise at the same time”.

One Colleague, Sinead, had said that “it’s nice to see the smiles on their faces when they were playing and being active”.
The Home Manager, Linda, commented “we have had some really enjoyable events across this month with the Residents, they all seemed very happy with what they were involved with”.
