The Residents at Roseberry Court have been involved in a new activity recently, Pimp My Zimmer.
Staff, Residents families and visitors have donated lots of lovely items for this project for the Residents to use on their Zimmer frames.
Pimp My Zimmer is decorating Residents Zimmer frames in any items that the Residents choose. For instance, James Kirk choice a knitted soldier, just like the one he bought each of his grandchildren as he used to be in the Navy. He also decorated his Zimmer frame with medals and poppies as well as a knitted rugby player as he has just had his wish granted of seeing a local rugby match.
The female Residents loved choosing flowers, knitted babies and other feminine items to decorate their Zimmer frames. Everyone was so proud of their efforts once completed.
Decorated Zimmer frames have been proven to reduce falls by up to 60%. This fact prompted Roseberry Court to introduce this new activity, which has been a huge success with the Residents.
