Rose Court Residents’ trip to Blackpool ZooThe last day of August 2022 was spent at Blackpool Zoo for some of the Residents at Rose Court care home, in Manchester, and it was a pleasant day had by all enjoying the fresh air together.

The Residents enjoyed the journey up to Blackpool, which was around an hour’s drive in the home’s minibus, and watching the world go by.

At the zoo, Residents commented on the colour changing of all the trees, due to the change in seasons, and enjoyed seeing all the children with their families. The sea lion show and the elephants were also big hits with the Residents and Residents discussed how well all the animals were kept.

The home’s kitchen team had prepared some delicious packed lunches for everyone for the journey.

One of the Residents at the 87-bed residential, nursing and dementia care home, said, “I have had a lovely day, it was fab to see all the lovely animals.”

Allison Porter, Wellbeing Coordinator, commented, “The Residents enjoyed this trip and got to see lots of different animals. They came home talking about it and sharing their story with the staff.”
