Two couples at HC-One’s Averill House care home in Newton Heath have enjoyed a very special three-course meal for Valentine’s Day.
Everyone at the home was treated to a Valentine’s Day card, a rose and an incredible dinner for the big day on Sunday. But for two couples in particular, their meal was very special.
Jack and Barbara Taylor, and Michael and Eileen Adamson are married couples who live together at the home. As part of their special celebrations, the couples were treated to their own private tables so that they could spend some romantic time together.
One Resident commented: “I feel so special. It’s been a lovely Valentine’s treat.”
Another Resident received a very special treat as well.
Kath Ford’s adoring husband, Brian, was unable to visit her this Valentine’s Day because he is shielding as part of lockdown. However, Colleagues set up a very special Skype call so that the two could share a meal together virtually.
Brian commented: “Wow, it looks amazing! You have all done a great job and thank you so much.”
With the dining room decorated with the Residents’ special cards and roses, as well as plenty of balloons and ornamental love hearts, love was certainly in the air at Averill House this weekend.
